Quick Answer: How the Economy Works
ArcheAge Chronicles plans a player-driven economy with trading, crafting, farming, housing, and guild systems. The Buy-to-Play model means no real-money transactions for in-game items. All gear and resources are earned through gameplay. The Demo does not include the full economy system โ these features will arrive with Early Access.
Planned Systems
XLGAMES has confirmed the following economy systems for the full release: player housing (build and customize your home), farming (grow crops and raise animals), crafting (create gear and consumables), trading (player-to-player market), and guild management (guild halls, guild taxes, territory control). Specific mechanics and numbers will be finalized during Early Access.
| System | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Trading | Planned for EA | Player-to-player market |
| Crafting | Planned for EA | Gear and consumable creation |
| Farming | Planned for EA | Crops and animal husbandry |
| Housing | Planned for EA | Build and customize homes |
| Guilds | Planned for EA | Guild halls and territory control |
No Pay-to-Win
XLGAMES has confirmed that Early Access will not include an in-game cash shop, and no pay-to-win items will be sold. The Buy-to-Play model ensures all players have equal access to gear and progression. This is a significant change from the original ArcheAge, which had a controversial cash shop.
